outfit of the week–red sweater, jeans, and navy keds

The outfit of the week comes to us courtesy of Audrey Hepburn who starred with Albert Finney in Two for the Road (1967).  Who wouldn’t agree she looks fab?  You can’t go wrong with a ready version of this classic casual denim outfit in your closet.

I ask you, who ever thought these would look cool again?

For those of you who can’t bear the thought of high waisted jeans again – have no fear – you can keep a classic look with tapered jeans that sit lower, at the natural waist or high hip, just don’t go too low – most importantly is to keep in mind the wash – keep that classic -

I like the tops with high rise, dark, or wide leg denims.  As for accessories I’d go with neutral rope espadrilles or even navy boots for the dresses.  And don’t be afraid to throw some green in there – this is a bold look.  The striped espadrilles above would look great with a pair of white shorts and a green short sleeve polo.
